

// Puff pastry cake with pastry cream and strawberry
Crispy and creamy
Today I share with you the perfect tart for any occasion! It's a puff pastry tart with custard and strawberries 🍓 that is finger-licking good 😋.
The combination of textures and flavors is incredible, and the best part is that it's very easy to make 🤗. Here are the steps so you can enjoy it as much as I do. You'll love it! 🥰😋
Ingredients (removable pan 26x3cm)
- 🥧2 sheets of Buitoni puff pastry
- 🍓280g strawberry jam (homemade or store-bought)
Ingredients: Custard
- 🥛750ml milk
- 🥚6 egg yolks
- 🍬180g sugar
- 🌽75g cornstarch
- 🥄1 tsp vanilla
- 🧈30g butter (optional)
Ingredients: Decoration (optional)
- 🍭Powdered sugar
- 🍓Fresh strawberries
Elaboration: Custard
- 🌸Heat the milk with vanilla in a saucepan.
- 🍓In a bowl, whisk the yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and 2 tablespoons of the milk that is being heated. When the milk is about to boil, pour it over the yolk mixture and mix well.
- 🌸Strain the mixture and return it to the saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and boils. Remove from heat, add the butter (optional) and mix well. Let it cool covered with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.

Elaboration: Assembling the tart
- 🍓Grease the pan and cover with one sheet of puff pastry. Prick with a fork and bake at 180ºC for 15 minutes.
- 🌸Remove from the oven and cover with a layer of custard, followed by the strawberry jam.
- 🍓Cut strips from the other puff pastry sheet and cover the tart as desired.

- 🌸Brush with beaten egg and bake at 180ºC for 30 minutes or until golden.
- 🍓Let it cool, unmold, and decorate with powdered sugar and strawberries, or as you like.
