// Chocolate & Vanilla Marble Cake

A duo of flavors

I like to always have a cake at home for snacks or breakfast 😋! Here I share another of my favorite cakes 😍, vanilla and chocolate marble cake.

It seems complicated but it's actually easy. So I hope you get encouraged and try it 🤗

Ingredients

  • 🍫3 eggs
  • 🍫220g sugar
  • 🍫180ml mild olive oil
  • 🍫250g 0000 or pastry flour
  • 🍫12g baking powder
  • 🍫1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 🍫30g pure cocoa powder + 35ml whole or lactose-free milk
  • 🍫100ml whole or lactose-free milk

Elaboration

  1. 🥧Preheat the oven to 165ºC and grease a 24cm rectangular mold
  2. 🥧In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until creamy
  3. 🥧Add the oil and continue beating
  4. 🥧Gradually add the flour previously sifted with the baking powder, beating continuously until well combined
  5. 🥧Finally, add the milk and beat until smooth
  6. 🥧Divide the batter into two; in one add a teaspoon of vanilla essence, and in the other mix the 30g of cocoa powder with 35ml milk, mix until well combined
  7. 🥧Pour the mixtures into the mold alternating vanilla and chocolate to create the marble effect and bake at 165ºC for 50/60 min or until a toothpick comes out clean
  8. 🥧Let cool 15–20 min and unmold
  9. 🥧To decorate, if desired, you can add chocolate coating

Notes

  • 🍬I tried three flours and all worked well: all-purpose flour, Gallo pastry flour, and 0000 flour
  • 🍬You can use sunflower oil instead
  • 🍬For those who don't consume or are lactose intolerant, you can substitute whole milk with semi or lactose-free milk, it tastes just as good 💜
