Traditional and fluffy

If you like traditional recipes, you have to try these doughnuts because they turn out super tender, fluffy, and with a delicious orange flavor 🤤✨

Ingredients (about 18 doughnuts of 35g each)

  • 🥚2 medium eggs
  • 🍬100g sugar
  • 🌿50ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 🥛30ml whole milk
  • 🍊40ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 🍊Zest of 1/2 orange
  • 🌾360g all-purpose flour
  • 🧁7g baking powder
  • 🧂A pinch of salt
  • 🫒Extra virgin olive oil for frying
  • 🍩Sugar for coating

Elaboration

  1. 1️⃣Beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is creamy and slightly foamy.
  2. 2️⃣Add the olive oil, orange juice, milk, and zest. Mix well.
  3. 3️⃣Sift the flour with the baking powder. Add it in two or three batches together with the salt. Mix and knead lightly until you get a soft dough, a little sticky but manageable.
  4. 4️⃣Let the dough rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  5. 5️⃣Shape balls, make a hole in the center with your finger, and shape into doughnuts.
  6. 6️⃣Fry in plenty of oil at 165–170°C until golden on both sides.
  7. 7️⃣Drain on paper towels and coat with sugar.

Note

  1. You can use the oil of your choice: extra virgin olive oil, sunflower oil, or mild 0.4 olive oil. It’s up to your taste.
